The Strikers Fox Valley Pre-Club Ball Mastery program is an important component of our overall Center of Excellence. This is an advanced level program focused on both the traditional recreation player who is looking for an introduction to travel soccer, and for players with advanced talent that need to be challenged further to meet their individual developmental needs. Committed to the One Community One Club Movement, Strikers FVSC has designed developmental pathways to meet the needs of all players in the Tri-Cities area with a variety of talent and skill levels.

Advanced level program focused on the traditional recreation player who either is looking for an introduction to soccer or players with advanced talent that need to be challenged further to meet their individual development needs.

  • BEGINNERS: 4-6 YEARS

In this most fun and engaging part of our program, players explore their knowledge for the game and translate it to solve scenarios often presented in a real soccer game.

Players learn different techniques to dribble the soccer ball and learn how to start making decisions during the game based on scenarios presented by the coach.

Many games are used to develop the decision-making process when defending a goal and also creating opportunities to score goals in a team environment.

Children are introduced to training sets and encouraged to play in small groups to maximize the number of touches on the ball per session.

Conditioning component is included as part of this process, using small groups.

The concept of “rondos” is introduced to teach how to pass the ball accurately between players.

Players are encouraged to participate in games and will have a chance to be directly involved with our older or next-level players at the Center of Excellence and Club level.

  • INTERMEDIATE: 6-8 YEARS

Conditioning components are continued, the concept of “rondos” is continued, training sets and small group play is continued.

More advanced practice and skills development is added to further enhance basic skills and game techniques.

Children are encouraged to engage in activities that develop their ability to make decisions and adjust their playing level according to age and ability.

Work in smalls groups is encouraged, with many opportunities for collaboration and development of sportsmanship skills.

Every participant has a chance to experience different levels of competition and to strive to achieve their personal best while playing soccer.

Players are encouraged to participate in games and will have a chance to be directly involved with our next-level players at the Center of Excellence and Club level programs.
