"There are so many great lessons and memories associated with playing for Strikers. I joined the club at 8 years old and played with them until I went to college at 18. Strikers set the foundation that opened the door to a D1 scholarship where I was able to earn a degree and pursue soccer all the way to training at the pro level with the Chicago Fire. The club helped me develop a love for the game that allowed some great experiences winning state and national championships and competing in the NCAA tournament.The self confidence, discipline and teamwork that I learned on the field has translated into building my own online business with my wife since 2007. The hard work and ability to play in high level competition has been invaluable as we have grown and scaled our business. As I travel nationally/internationally to speak and expand business, I often find myself sharing lessons I learned while playing for the Strikers. The club provided many great memories and even some lasting friendships. It is great to see coach Feulner has been able to lead the organization to continue providing young people with the opportunity to play a great sport but also learn lessons that can benefit them through life." - Derek Kosek
