Successes in 2022 and Improvements for 2023

From The President
January 3, 2023

I want to share some exciting Striker’s happenings since my last blog post from last summer. The most noticeable thing is our new sign on the east side of the building. The entrance on the east side is now available for our players coming in to work out with Coach Poulin. We also installed new LED lighting in the parking lot that will help make it brighter and safer for our Strikers family.

For the first time this fall Coach Marcus ran our Pre-Club and Developmental Rec Programs in both Batavia and Geneva. To date we’ve had over 800 boys and girls, ages 2-9, participating in the programs. This winter the Dev Rec program will meet once a week and serves as an introduction to the game. The Pre-Club Ball Mastery program meets twice a week: an evening training session with our trainers, and then games on Saturdays.

I’m happy to announce that Fox Valley Orthopedics (FVO) will once again be our “official” club sponsor in 2023! It’s been great to have FVO available to diagnose any player injuries and design rehab programs to get them back on the field. Thanks goes out to Coach Koenig for his work in this area.

Congratulations to our 2004/05 Girls who were once again invited to play in the National Pro League this winter. They will compete against teams from around the country to earn a spot at Nationals in July.

I’m thrilled the lobby areas will again be open this winter. Parents can again relax by the fire while your child trains. The kitchen window will also be open, offering coffee, tea, and hot cocoa.

Lastly, I hope everyone was able to take some time to relax with family and friends over the holidays.  It was a year of growth for us, with much more to come in 2023.

From all of us at Strikers, Happy New Year!
